Remote Pilot License (RPL)
This is the starting point for a career in drones and is governed by the part 101 legislation.
SACAA Pre-Requisites:
•English Language Proficiency (Unless the student had English first language in matric) must be able to supply certified matric certificate
•Class 3 Aviation Medical
There are 2 parts to getting your RPL:
Part 1. Theory Training
Consists of 6 days of in-class training with one of our instructors.
The following subjects are covered during the course as prescribed by the SACAA:
•Principles of Flight
•Air Law for Remotely Piloted Aircraft
•Meteorology
•RPAS Technical and General
•Flight Planning and Navigation
•Human Factors
•Radiotelephony
DroneIT uses mock exams throughout the RPL course to ensure that all the students are prepared for their final exam.
